VBS Fun
Posted by Pastor Hinkle on August 10, 2009
Here are some pictures of St. Paul’s 2009 Vacation Bible School. Turnout was disappointing, but those who came enjoyed the afternoon.
| Our theme was Dive In: Finding Treasure in God’s Word. | ![]() |
| We began with hot dogs, chips, and desert while we waited for everyone to come. Then came the opening skit and our first look at the day’s Bible story. | |
| Tia demonstrates how to dress for a day on the water. | ![]() |
| Everyone is in motion as Kelli helps the kids with their crafts. The bottles of colored sand were a big hit. | ![]() |
| Outdoor water games kept us cool in the hot weather | |
| Here’s the crew in the choir loft as the music period gets underway. Lots of high-energy music. | ![]() |
| The preschoolers dive into their lesson. Blue streamers overhead and blue walls with fish (not pictured) help them pretend they’re underwater. | ![]() |
Thanks to everyone who came and to everyone who helped.

New Adult Instruction Class
Posted by Wapello Warbler on June 23, 2009
Two people have expressed interest in finding out more about what we believe and teach as preparation for joining St. Paul, Wapello.

Over the years, I’ve seen a number of people attend these classes because a friend invited them and promised to go with them. They were not necessarily interested in joining the congregation (though many do), but they had honest questions and were sufficiently interested in finding the answers that they were willing to give up a few hours of their time.
If you have a friend who needs Jesus take advantage of this opportunity and invite them.
Our text books will be God for Us by David Strelen and the Bible.
Here are the topics we will cover:
