It matters what you believe.
While there are many who say that it doesn’t matter what you believe, the Christian church has always said that only the truth can save us.
The reason that a faith based on lies and misconceptions cannot save is that it will point one either to a false god or a false christ. For that reason, the ecumenical creeds that set forth the truth about God and Jesus Christ also draw the boundaries of the holy Christian Church.
