Outline

New Life in Christ

In baptism we were crucified and buried with Christ, we have been declared dead to the law and dead to sin.

How then do we live? We have been raised with Christ and given new life through his resurrection by the Spirit of God.

We have become God’s dear children.

We serve God rather than ourselves. His desires, not ours. His purpose not ours. His methods not ours.

Because we have the promise of eternal life we are willing to suffer all even death, rather than abandon our faith.

Therefore put to death misdeeds of the body.

Colossians 3:5-9a describes these things. Kill them or be killed by them.

Be led by the Spirit

Rooted in your relationship with God. Live by faith. Show gratitude for His gifts. Let His word dwell in you richly.

The Spirit’s fruit will develop over time.
